Havel Spree Colloquium 2016

Nov 10, 2016 | 09:00 AM - 06:00 PM

The Havel Spree Colloquium is an annual symposium on plant biology for PhD students from the Berlin-Brandenburg region.

We cordially invite you to the "Havel Spree Colloquium 2016". The meeting will be held on

Thursday, 10 November 2016, 09:15 - 18:30

at the

Max-Planck Campus in Potsdam-Golm

Am Mühlenberg 1, 14476 Potsdam

This year a group of PhD students from the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology, in Golm, will continue the tradition which has been established for over ten years. All PhD students from the surrounding area, doing research in plant biology, agriculture or related fields, are invited to present their research at the symposium. Ten selected PhD students will have the chance to present their research as a short presentation. Registered PhD students are strongly encouraged to present a poster during our poster session.

The aim of the Havel Spree Colloquium is to provide early career scientists with the opportunity to present and discuss their work, challenges they faced and ideas they encountered within a scientific forum of peers and leading experts in the field of plant biology. To strengthen our mission, we invite Keynote speakers from the region to give additional talks during the Symposium.

Dahlem Center of Plant Sciences (DCPS) prizes will be awarded to the best oral presentations and posters. These prizes are made possible by a generous donation from Prof. Dr. Jürgen Schmitt, a former member of the DCPS.

The day will end with a social event, where the first PhD-Movie will be screened.

The symposium is free of charge.

Please, register for participation or apply for an oral or a poster presentation

until September 30th.
