International Symposium of the Collaborative Research Centre 973

The 1st International Symposium of the Collaborative Research Centre 973 on "Priming and Memory of Organismic Responses to Stress" will take place in Berlin, Germany, November 24, 2012.

News from Nov 19, 2012

The CRC 973 pursues two major research aims by investigating organisms lacking nervous systems: (I) to elucidate the molecular, biochemical and physiological mechanisms involved in priming and memory of responses to stress, and (II) to understand how the stability and predictability of the environmental conditions affect priming and memory abilities. During the first phase of the CRC, the majority of projects focuses on plants, one project investigates fungi, and another bacteria. In the long-term perspective, our CRC research intends to elucidate whether these different types of organisms share common mechanisms in being primed for stress and in storing (remembering) information on stressful events.
